About Rishitaa

Bonjour! I'm Rishitaa (Rishi), a Mumbai-based tutor with a slightly unconventional path into French teaching — I actually come from a psychology background, and it's shaped the way I teach more than you'd expect.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Psychology from Ahmedabad University and I'm currently pursuing my MSc in Applied Psychology (Business & Organizational Psychology) at NMIMS Mumbai. Alongside my psychology work, I'm DELF/DALF certified in French, and I recently completed a demo-teaching round as a French Subject Expert for an edtech platform — so I've had real, structured practice designing lessons that actually land with beginner students, not just informal tutoring experience.

What I bring to a French classroom is less about drilling grammar tables and more about understanding how a student's mind takes in a new language — where the anxiety creeps in, what builds confidence, and how to keep a beginner motivated instead of overwhelmed. I like to make lessons feel like a conversation, not a test — mixing vocabulary and grammar into stories, dialogue, and real context so it sticks naturally rather than through memorization alone.

Outside of tutoring, I'm involved in student leadership work — I currently head the PsychCamp Committee at NMIMS and hold a Research Assistantship at Ahmedabad University — so I'm used to explaining ideas clearly, patiently, and in a way that meets people exactly where they are.

About the lesson

What makes my classes different:

I bring a psychology background (MSc Applied Psychology, NMIMS Mumbai) into how I teach — which means I focus on how students actually learn a new language, not just what to teach them. Lessons are structured around confidence-building, reducing language anxiety, and making mistakes feel like a normal part of learning rather than something to fear.

I also completed a demo teaching round as a French Subject Expert for an edtech platform, so my lessons are built to be engaging and classroom-tested — not just improvised.

My approach:

Grammar and vocabulary taught through conversation, stories, and real-life context — not rote memorization
Pronunciation and listening practice from day one, so students speak with confidence early on
Personalized pacing — every student learns differently, and I adapt rather than following a rigid syllabus
A warm, patient teaching style that keeps young beginners motivated and stress-free
