About Nicole
During my nursing career of nearly 2 decades, attention to detail was paramount. I started as a staff nurse, and retired as a Director of Nursing. I also have an AA in English, and have been a devoted writer for over 4 decades. I love to share the writing process and English language with anyone who wants to learn, and I am dedicated to ensuring my students gain confidence in their writing as they improve their skills. I have taught students from all walks of life and all ages, and have experience with helping non-native English speakers improve their skills as well.

My lessons focus on assisting the student to learn to proofread and edit their writing projects through a series of drafts meant as a structure for levels of improvement. My main level of instruction is up to the Associate Degree in any class that has the requirement of writing assignments. I build each student their own customized lesson plan to focus on identifying areas that need improvement and building on their existing strengths. My instruction technique is to help the student by asking questions during the writing process that help lead the student to discover anything they might need to change on their own, instead of simply telling them what is wrong in the beginning. I feel that journey is vital in remembering the information and taking ownership of their writing process.
