About Anthony

I am a retired Head of Science with 20 years experience teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics KS3, GCSE and A level. I have been an examiner for over 18 years at GCSE and A Level. My qualifications include:- MSc in Science PGCE in Secondary Science Education PGCE in Educational Philosophy BSc(Hons) in Chemistry and Earth Sciences BSc(Hons) Psychology with Counselling

About the lesson

My philosophy of education when I was in teaching was that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can confidently engage in learning. As a private tutor I have maintained this philosophy and helped many struggling students to improve. The reason a student is struggling doesn’t matter, what is important is that your child deserves the opportunity to gain a good education. When I take on a student, I initially determine an academic baseline, identify weaknesses and then develop a lesson strategy to suit their needs. This is followed by bespoke lessons, focusing on weaknesses, homework and testing, improving confidence and ultimately overall grade. I have been tutoring for 10years and completed approximately 10000hrs of lessons, I have taught students from the UK, China, Philippines, Kuwait,United States, UAE and New Zealand.
