About Gianna

Hello, my name is Gianna, and I am a sophomore at High Point University, where I study history with a minor in legal studies. I plan to attend law school and build a career in trademark and copyright law, so strong writing, careful reading, and clear reasoning are part of my daily work.

In my courses, I research, analyze sources, and write detailed papers that require well-organized arguments. I also run my own small business, which has taught me to be reliable, communicate clearly, and follow through on my commitments. I bring that same dependability to every tutoring session: I arrive prepared, respect your time, and stay focused on your goals.

I know that writing can feel stressful, and I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions. My goal is not just to help you finish an assignment but to help you understand how to improve, so you gain real confidence in your reading and writing. Whether you are working on a first essay, a research paper, or a college application, I will work with you at a pace that suits you.

I look forward to helping you succeed!

’m a sophomore at High Point University studying history with a minor in legal studies, and I’m planning to attend law school. My coursework means I read, research, and write arguments constantly, and I love helping other students get better at the same skills.

My teaching method and techniques

I believe good writing is a skill you build, not a talent you’re born with. My approach is to teach you the “why” behind every correction so you can fix the problem yourself next time. I use:

Guided practice: We work through your own assignments together, so everything we cover applies directly to your classes.
Breaking big tasks into small steps: Outlining, drafting, and revising become manageable instead of overwhelming.
Reading closely: I teach you to pull out main ideas, evidence, and tone so analysis feels natural.
Clear feedback: I point out what’s working, explain what isn’t, and show you how to improve it.
Argument-building skills: From my history and legal studies work, I teach you to support every claim with evidence and logic.

A typical lesson plan (about 60 minutes)

Check-in (5 min): We talk through your goals, upcoming deadlines, and anything you’re stuck on.
Review (10 min): We go over feedback from your teacher or my notes from our last session.
Main focus (30 min): We work on that session’s skill, such as thesis statements, paragraph structure, grammar, or analyzing a text, using your actual assignment.
Practice (10 min): You try the skill on your own while I guide you.
Wrap-up (5 min): We recap what you learned, and I give you a small, doable task to complete before next time.

What sets me apart

I’m a student myself, so I know the workload, deadlines, and pressure you’re dealing with.
My background in legal studies means I can teach you to write persuasively and precisely, which helps with essays, debates, and even college applications.
I’m patient and encouraging. No question is too basic, and I focus on building your confidence along with your grades.
Lessons are personalized. I don’t use a one-size-fits-all worksheet.
