About Magdalena

I am Magdalena, a working professional located in Beeston, Nottingham. Before completing my PhD in Sustainable Chemistry here at the University of Nottingham, I lived and studied in Linz, Austria. I have graduated from my Bachelor's (Chemistry) and Master's programme (Chemical Engineering) with first class honours in 2014, and 2019, respectively. Throughout my academic career, I have received numerous awards, e.g. scholarship for outstanding academic excellence at Johannes Kepler University Linz, and a scholarship at the Beijing Foreign Languages University in 2012. I have studied and worked at renowned institutions internationally, including the University of Cambridge, Technical University Dresden, Fraunhofer Institute, MIT India, and UCLouvain.

With over a decade of experience in tutoring, I have supported students aged 10 through adulthood across a broad range of subjects with a focus on maths and natural sciences. My experience comprises individualised one-to-one sessions, as well as formal, curriculum-based science teaching in a classroom setting at the University of Nottingham International College, where I developed and implemented effective, student-centered learning strategies for an international cohort.

I stem from a family of teachers and I have enjoyed helping others with their education. I am dedicated to providing high-quality, tailored academic support with a strong emphasis on clarity, engagement, and measurable progress at accessible rates, pro bono arrangements may be considered.

About the lesson

All sessions will be individually tailored towards the need of the student to guarantee best. There is a large degree of flexibility on my end, offering sessions on weekends, late evenings or early mornings for no additional fee.

Having over a decade of experience in tutoring, both in one-to-one settings and in classroom-based frontal teaching, gives me the ability to communicate complex and challenging concepts effectively, and often facilitates understanding the student's need without them being able to clearly communicate them.
