About Lisa
I have 43 years of teaching experience and hold a Master of Science in Mathematical Analysis. Throughout my professional career, I have mentored students from secondary education through advanced university studies, helping learners develop strong mathematical foundations through personalized instruction, practical understanding, and continuous encouragement. Supporting students as they discover confidence in mathematics remains my greatest professional achievement.
One learner initially struggled with differential equations because understanding relationships between mathematical models and physical systems seemed difficult. Through carefully structured examples, graphical interpretations, and practical engineering applications, the student gradually developed strong analytical skills and became confident solving complex mathematical models. This progress resulted in exceptional academic performance and inspired the student to pursue further studies in applied mathematics.
I believe mathematics develops valuable lifelong qualities including logical reasoning, resilience, creativity, adaptability, and disciplined problem-solving. My teaching philosophy encourages students to view mathematics as an interconnected discipline that develops logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and confident decision-making. Every lesson combines conceptual discussions, visual demonstrations, collaborative investigations, technology-assisted learning, and practical applications that strengthen mathematical communication and encourage students to solve problems using multiple strategies. Learners are guided to explain their reasoning, evaluate different approaches, and develop confidence in independent mathematical thinking.
Practical applications from aerospace engineering, artificial intelligence, financial mathematics, renewable energy systems, medical imaging, logistics optimization, and advanced data analytics demonstrate the importance of mathematics across modern industries.
