About Carter

I am a college student seeking a degree in English. I am always working on a personal project, whether it is a short story, novel, novella, or poem. I am good at explaining difficult to grasp concepts and helping others to express what they already know.

About the lesson

I believe the number one issue that students face in English is that they don't lack the knowledge that their teacher, professor, or they themselves are asking of them, but that they have difficulty putting their thoughts onto paper in an understandable way. After looking at some assignments you're struggling with, we'll find what you're having the most trouble with (whether it's grammar, evidence, rhetoric, etc.) and come up with a concrete and practical solution. I'll help you with each step without patronising you or insulting your intelligence and, through whichever teaching method/s work/s best for you, get you to a point that you no longer need a tutor.

Details

The first lesson will be 30 minutes long, give or take, depending on how much time you need to communicate what problems you're having and what teaching styles work best for you. In that first session, we'll try to pinpoint what you struggle the most with and focus on that while also improving upon a broader scope of skills, after which each lesson will be $11/hr.
