About Alexandra

I have graduated high school sixth form with A*, A*, A grades in English Literature, Russian and French respectively, and am going to study BA Philosophy at Durham University in September 2026. I believe that the key to success at any point in the later years of high school education, is having a good support system, and learning to see your subjects through a perspective that eventually makes them enjoyable. I would like to give back and help others achieve their true potential, because I believe that everyone deserves and has that chance! I am an honest person, so my feedback is always truthful but impactful, as that is what really influences us to improve and strive further!

About the lesson

Having completed A level examinations this past summer, I understand how current students may feel and therefore have a unique approach to each student's needs. I value quality and efficiency, making lessons as productive as possible. I can support and advise, given my recent personal experience in high school, so students can feel heard and understood during our lessons. For French and Russian lessons, 90% at least will be taught in that particular language, as it makes an incredible impact on the student's understanding, and practice of oral skill. Depending on the level the student is working at, there will be more writing support or reading support, but listening and speaking practice is essentially mandatory. However, for English literature, a deep analysis and understanding of text will be a priority as that is the key to the subject! Therefore, a lot of reading, discussing, as we build on knowledge and strengthen the creative mind. Of course, writing and structure will also play a big part in lessons as well. An average lesson would be 1 hour long, but for anyone seeking extra help, extra time can be arranged. My lessons are aimed at A level, AS level, and GCSE students.
