About Evie

Hi! I'm Evie, I've recently graduated from Newcastle Uni with an MBBS Medicine degree. I'm currently taking a planned year out before starting life as a doctor to take a break and pursue other interests after five years of uni.

I've previously tutored in a variety of areas - including medical admissions, UCAT and A Level Biology/Chemistry/Psychology. I really enjoy getting to know my students and working through what is/isn't working for you to hopefully boost your results together.

About the lesson

I'm offering tuition for any scope of medical admissions - whether that be UCAT, interview prep or general advice around tailoring your applications to your strengths.

I've previously tutored for the UCAT both individually and in group sessions. After lots of practice and mocks myself, I came out with a 3040 Band 1 which really helped keep my options open - and hopefully I can help you do the same.

I tend to tailor my lessons to the student - focusing on your weaker areas with methods that match your learning style.
Initially I aim to break down what you've covered so far, what your goals are and where you may be struggling more currently so we know what to target. I also like to discuss how you learn best, whether that be that you prefer shorter more intense sessions, or you learn visually etc.
If you are keen to continue, I will go away and plan for the upcoming sessions. For example, if focusing on QR for UCAT, I would typically prepare some teaching aiming to learn key pitfalls and understand the question types before putting these into practice with past questions.
As someone who doesn't have an infinite attention span, I like to keep lessons dynamic and versatile so it stays as interesting as possible!

I've recently completed my degree at Newcastle, but can completely understand how stressful applying can be! If looking for help with a specific uni, I received interviews and offers from Newcastle, Bristol, Liverpool and Birmingham med schools. I hope I can be of help.
