About Abygail
Being one of the oldest and first people in my family to attend college and also being one of the 2% of Latina women to graduate with a Mathematics degree at my university, I am very goal-oriented, hard-working, innovative, and creative. Being raised in a single-parent low-income household influenced my drive to want success. I have taught and devoted time to learn subjects and hobbies that are both interesting and challenging to me.

I do not lecture, rather my sessions are student lead. I want students to achieve conceptual understanding and become the mathematicians they are capable of. Guided questions consist of:
What did you notice about _________?
What do you think?
How did you figure that out?
Can you prove that?
What if….? (conjecture)
The methods that work best for me is encouraging positive reinforcement and allowing students to lead the discussion.

Abygail used to be my tutor, after her help I got straight A’s in all my classes and was excelling in math. She is a very nice, patient and outgoing person.
