About Ryan

I am an aspiring physicist who has recently completed my A-levels, so I have a very current understanding of the exam system, the challenges students face and the techniques that can make a real difference in exams.

Having gone through the process myself, I know that doing well is not just about memorising content. A strong understanding of the underlying concepts, knowing how to approach unfamiliar questions and recognising what examiners are looking for are equally important. I would like to pass on the knowledge, strategies and study techniques that helped me to future GCSE and A-level students.

For the past two years, I have also regularly assisted teachers and supported other students through school clinics, helping them work through difficult topics and questions. These experiences have taught me how to explain the same idea in different ways depending on how a student learns.

As someone who has only recently been through GCSEs and A-levels myself, I hope I can also provide a more relatable perspective and understand the pressures students may be experiencing.

Outside academics, I am a keen snooker player and Formula 1 fan. I am friendly, patient and approachable, and I want my lessons to be an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their confidence.

About the lesson

I aim to help students develop a strong understanding of Maths and Science by building concepts from the fundamentals, rather than simply memorising methods or formulae. My lessons are tailored to each student, with a particular focus on identifying and improving weaker areas through clear explanations, structured notes and carefully selected practice questions.

A typical lesson lasts around one hour and can be adapted depending on the student’s goals, whether that is strengthening their understanding of a topic, improving problem-solving skills or preparing for exams.

I am a new tutor with experience supporting and tutoring other students at school, so I understand the common difficulties students can face and aim to explain challenging ideas in a clear and approachable way.

I offer lessons for students from Year 9 to Year 13, covering GCSE and A-level Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
