About Zoe

I have recently graduated with a First Class degree in Interpreting and Translating with French & Spanish from Heriot Watt University. I am offering classes to those wanting to better there language skills and get to where I wanted to be when I was studying languages at school.

Given I studied both French and Spanish to A-Level I completely understand the stress and importance of these exams and I am willing to give as much help as I can to help you improve your language levels. I may not be a native speaker of French or Spanish but after having graduated with my recent degree I now consider myself fluent in both languages. I believe being a non-native of French and Spanish is in fact an important quality when it comes to teaching languages since I too went through the same process you are going through and therefore I know all the common difficulties that native English speakers may have when learning French or Spanish.

I am very friendly, approachable and patient and know exactly the position young language learners are in and so I think I can give you just what you need to boost those language skills and perfect that accent.

I understand that often language learners feel slightly embarrassed or anxious when it comes to talking in a different language but with my teaching there is no need to feel shy as I understand that everyone must start somewhere and I hope to show you that you WILL get there, hopefully with some useful tips and teaching from myself :)

About the lesson

My teaching method is simple. I will take the lead from you. I will ask you to write me a list of areas you are struggling with and we will address them one by one in order of importance to you. From there, I can create exercises, test you orally or work through any textbooks you already own. I can also provide extra materials for you to work on in your own time if you wish.

I believe that teaching at the students pace often works well for language tutoring since this additional help will build upon the knowledge that the student already has and this of course will vary depending on the individual.

For this reason my teaching is focused on the student in order to provide as much help and support as possible while helping to boost the confidence of young language learners.

I would prefer to give my lessons from my home as I have a quiet work space ideal for tutoring however, if it is necessary I can travel to the students home at an extra cost of £3.

I hope you find these prices reasonable and I am willing to do a deal for lessons bought in bulk.
