About Kailee

I am a recent graduate of the University of St Andrews, where I earned a first-class honours degree in English. With a strong passion for both English Literature and Language, I am dedicated to fostering a love for the subject while ensuring that learning is both engaging and effective.

My goal is to help students build confidence in their abilities, overcome challenges, and achieve their academic objectives. With experience teaching English to students of all ages and abilities, including ESL students and students with special educational needs, I am adept at creating a comfortable, encouraging learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to succeed.

What I Offer:

- Personalised Online Lessons: My lessons are one-on-one and take place online via Zoom with a typical session lasting 40-60 minutes. My approach is student-centred, with a focus on understanding rather than memorising, and my lessons are personalised to meet the individual needs of each student. If you would rather meet in person, I am happy to meet in a public space in the Edinburgh City area.

- English Language & Literature Tuition: Tailored lessons in both English Language and English Literature, designed to help students excel in their studies, improve their grades, and develop a love for reading and writing.

- Primary to GCSE/National 5 Focus: Specialising in students from Primary School through to GCSE/Nat 5, I offer a structured approach to build foundational skills in younger students and teach exam-focused strategies for GCSE/Nat 5 preparation.

- Comprehensive Curriculum Coverage: Help with key areas such as comprehension, creative writing, essay writing, analysis of literature, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary building.

- Exam Preparation: Targeted revision for GCSE/Nat 5 English exams, with practice on past papers, exam techniques, and time management to boost confidence and exam results.

- Reading and Writing Confidence: For younger or casual learners, I focus on fostering an enjoyment of learning, as well as improving reading and writing skills, and building confidence in expressing ideas clearly and creatively.
