About Jude

I am an MA Student who has previously worked with children between the ages of 4-18, as well as with disabled students. I am looking to help school students develop in subjects with which they are struggling, whether due to misunderstanding, or due to missed lessons as a result of Covid-19. I’m extremely flexible, adaptable, and can mould my lessons to the needs of my students.

About the lesson

My teaching method is adapted from the techniques of my school tutors, which are still fresh in my mind having only left school three years ago. As a student, I know that to learn, one must feel a love for the subject they are trying to understand. My teaching therefore takes the individual’s experience into account, sympathising with my student’s issues with the subject, developing ways of working through particular issues. For example, with a student who says they ‘hate’ Shakespeare, I would ask what they enjoy in everyday life. If I had a student who was fascinated by rap music, I would try to show the commonality between Shakespeare and rap music. The Montagues and Capulets are no indifferent to the Bluds and Crypts, famously referenced by the rapper 2pac. This teaching method is adaptable in myriad ways, and for various subjects. Generally, my lessons are based around having fun while learning. It’s very hard to teach if a student is falling asleep at the lesson’s content. Unfortunately, many teachers don’t understand this. My lessons will instil a love for the subject that exists far past the student’s exams.
