About Ashleigh
I am an English teacher at a secondary school in Oldham.
I have an MA from the University of Leeds in English Literature where I studied Shakespeare’s Tyrants, Caribbean and Black British writing and Culture and Anarchy.
I have a BA from Nottingham Trent University.
I love to travel and I taught English for two years in Beijing!
I am passionate about literature and try and read at least 60 books a year!

I am passionate about English Literature and I want my students to feel the same. I do this by getting them to engage with texts in a way that they can relate to them.
If students fully understand the context and message of the literature, they are much more likely to be able to give insightful, authentic and thought provoking responses.
I like to engage students with an array of different activities that coincide with the reading of texts to keep them engaged and responsive.
