About Leah
I graduated from Brown University in May with a B.S. in Astrophysics and a B.A. in Geophysics, and I will begin a PhD in Astrophysics this fall. I have four years of experience designing and teaching science lessons in Providence public elementary schools, and three years of experience as a teaching assistant in undergraduate astronomy courses. My passion for teaching STEM began in high school, where I tutored students in math.

I believe that lessons must be tailored to the individual needs of each student. I have a goal-oriented approach to teaching and before beginning any topic I make sure I understand what my student hopes to achieve. I have experience teaching students from elementary school through college, and my approach is different for each group. I believe that younger students benefit from an inquiry-driven approach to learning, while older students may progress most quickly with a more directed method.
