About Kimberly

I’m Kimberly — an experienced literacy educator, instructional coach, and school leader with 20+ years supporting students and teachers across K–12. I specialize in helping students become confident readers and expressive, capable writers. I believe every student has a voice worth hearing and a story worth telling. My teaching approach is warm, relational, and rooted in understanding the whole child. I tailor each lesson to the student’s strengths, interests, and needs — so learning feels encouraging, not overwhelming.

What I Can Help With • Reading fluency, comprehension & confidence • Building vocabulary and understanding text structure • Writing (sentences → paragraphs → essays → creative expression) • Critical thinking & discussion skills • Homework support, organization, and study strategies My Teaching Approach I do not simply correct work — I teach students to understand the why behind the how. Students learn to: • Think deeply about what they read • Organize and communicate ideas clearly • Speak, write, and share with confidence • Rediscover joy and curiosity in learning I taught English and literacy across elementary and middle school, supported high school writers, and coached teachers in best-practice reading and writing instruction. I have supported gifted learners, reluctant readers, multilingual students, and students who need patience, support, and confidence-building.
