About Naomi
I have a music degree in voice performance. When my oldest child was struggling with reading I began homeschooling her. I learned through trial and error, conference workshops, and later received my teaching certification for 1st thru 8th grades. I taught in the classroom for over 15 years. My children and students were very successful in school. I contributed my success to my phonics background, creative approaches, and high standards.

I first take a reading survey of my student. Next, I use a phonetic and whole language approach to teaching basics. Older children need motivational strategies and I am able to help with developing a love for reading. Creative writing and basic writing skills are also essential for the child’s success in language arts. I have many years of training, experience, and creative approaches.
