Radiotherapy engineer with 5 years of GCSE / KS3 science tutoring available for Chemistry lessons!

I'm very proud to recommend Alice for the Tutor role at this site. As her Supervisor at CeX in Kingston upon Thames, I had the pleasure of working with her for three years from September 2017 to September 2020. I met her first in March 2017, when she did a work experience placement at CeX as part of her secondary school curriculum, before coming back as a permanent employee in September 2017. A fully capable Sales Assistant who is punctual and always willing to learn, Alice was among our outstanding staff at CeX and I positively endorse her skills and experience.

At CeX, we not only sell products but also buy products from customers that are suitable to resell second-hand. Her general duties and responsibilities included serving customers (which involved selling and buying-in products), booking hardware items for testing (such as phones, games consoles and computers) and resolving customer service issues. Alice quickly learned about the wide range of electronics and entertainment products we deal with and our store policies to ensure customers were always given accurate information about them. When customer service issues occurred, she dealt with customers compassionately while remaining calm under pressure. Additionally, she was brilliant at merchandising the store to a high standard, processing and packaging e-commerce web orders, and complying with GDPR when dealing with customer information, all with meticulous attention to detail. Alice also helped train staff on store policies and procedures, both for new staff and experienced staff when changes in business operations occurred. I know these skills and experiences have transferred well into a recent educational role at Ascend Tutors, where she helps biology, chemistry and physics students achieve their goals and ambitions. Alice has been consistently tutoring for 5 years, even during her time working at CeX and her own studies.

I would consider her main strengths her friendly, kind and approachable nature, her enthusiasm to keep learning new things, dealing with customers compassionately, product knowledge (which helped troubleshoot issues or enquiries customers had with products), her strive for providing positive results for the company, and training staff effectively so they retained the information she provided. I could always rely on Alice to complete tasks and help other members of staff when required, at many times exceeding my expectations. She always arrived on time for shifts and often came in to cover shifts when other staff members were sick or unreliable. She very rarely called in sick and maintained a great attendance record.

She dealt with customers very professionally and didn’t bring the company into disrepute or break any policies and procedures. Although not very often, when she did make a mistake, she always owned up to it and learned from the experience. While her skills are greatly admired, Alice was also a brilliant team player and everyone at the store found her very easy to get along and work with. Her kind and thoughtful personality made her a pleasure to have in the store and she made many positive friendships with her co-workers.

Alice taught me Physics in preparation for a radiotherapy physics exam for a year. She was hard working, attentive and made my learning a pleasure. She listened to me when I needed extra help in specific topics and adjusted her teaching style if I still did not understand. She is a very friendly outgoing person who made me feel comfortable at all times during my learning.
