About Catherine
I am a Senior Financial Analyst with a Bachelor's Degree in mathematical economics and a Master's Degree in regional studies (with a thesis topic on regional finance). During my undergraduate studies, I was a calculus teaching assistant and math and statistics to student athletes. While working for JPMorgan, I was a training coordinator for brokerage traders. My focus is on practical financial applications of mathematics, with a specialization in data analysis.

My approach is top-down, ensuring that the macro perspective of the concept is understood, as well as it's importance, before focusing on the intricacies of a specific topic or method. Although my background is in teaching college-level mathematics and finance, I believe that teaching the foundations built in middle and high school are just as important.
