About Cameron
I gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in 2019 through my Initial Teacher Training (ITT) in which I received a Good grade (Grade 2) and since then I have continued to work in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with children in small groups, on a one-to-one basis and whilst teaching a full class. I have had a lot of experience of teaching and assisting in Lower Key Stage Two.
I have had experience of teaching Years One, Three and Six during my ITT and in my role as a Teaching Assistant, I have further developed my skills in these year groups plus Year Five and I have planned and delivered a Year Two writing booster class targeting greater depth children. This experience has given me a clearer understanding of the provision required across KS1 and KS2.
Throughout my ITT, my lessons were graded as Good across a range of subjects including English, ReadWriteInc. phonics, Maths, Science, Art, Geography, ICT, Music, Religious Studies and PSHE. Feedback particularly noted my good planned use of images, artefacts and targeted questioning to promote a fun, interactive and successful learning environment in which all children could participate and achieve at their own level. For example, I used religious artefacts from different faiths to support a Year One lesson on how different faiths can place great significance on religious objects. I have spent time observing how differentiation is used in mainstream, Designated Provision Units and Special Education Needs (SEN) schools to further child attainment. From these, I have developed my use of specifically worded questions, purposeful and varied use of additional adult support around the classroom. When planning, I ensure through the use of differentiation that all children can both access the lesson and be challenged. This is reflected in my lesson observations that highlight my clear understanding of what provision specific groups need to progress.

Stuck at home? Worried about your child's progress in school? I'm a bright, exuberant and enthusiastic teacher who's worked across multiple different roles in different schools in nearly every year group! I know how children learn and I can positively impact on their academic progress. I can offer a quality education over webcam that will ensure progress. I use a combination of email and Zoom - a free-to-download, free-to-use video conferencing app - to conduct lessons. To download Zoom: (concealed information)
Now for the nitty-gritty:
High quality learning takes place in a purposeful, inclusive, safe and stimulating environment where children can explore independently and creatively new concepts and ideas that leads to a piece of work that clearly shows progression on the skills and knowledge that they had previously.
I approach teaching through scaffolding a knowledge base upon which independent work inspired through creative and appropriate use or artefacts and visual stimuli can be attempted. I am a vibrant character, engaging children with what they can identify with in order to foster an enjoyment of learning.
I am a reflective practitioner who looks back on previous lessons to inform my future planning so that I can deliver a targeted education accessible to all children and to develop my own teaching practice. When planning, I refer to the current National Curriculum to ensure I am covering and demonstrating progress in the required skills.
