About Sara

I am a qualified TESOL teacher with 7 years of experience teaching Italian and English to private students, groups, TESOL schools, organisations and universities in the UK and abroad.

I teach General Italian and English, but also Business and Language Skills, helping all levels to reach their goals and develop their linguistic skills.

Besides being a qualified TESOL teacher, I have a background in foreign languages and linguistics (MA, MA and BA) and 12 years of experience as a translator and interpreter for the business and marketing industries in the UK and Italy.

I also speak and work with Spanish and French and have a basic understanding of Portuguese.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is based on a mix of DITALS and Engage-Study-Activate method: DITALS is the official Italian methodology developed by the University of Venice to help learners develop their skills in a clear and comprehensive way, while ESA is a friendly, supportive and communicative approach that focuses on actionable steps.
In a nutshell, I like to create appropriate, engaging and informative lessons able to motivate and improve the students.

During my lessons, the students have a chance to practice all the main linguistic skills (speaking, listening, writing and reading) plus improve pronunciation, review vocabulary and develop confidence and a specialised understanding of the language.
Each class is different and tailored around the students' goals, from general to business or academic, I like to create courses that work and that will encourage my students to practice and enjoy the language they are learning.

I like to use different materials, integrate grammar and vocabulary and always help the student to improve pronunciation and speaking confidence.

My rates start at £/h 17 but are flexible as I'm happy to discuss payment options for more than 10 hours packages, specialised lessons (i.e. Business English, exam preparation, etc.), small groups and corporate.
