About Sigourney
My name is Sigourney and I am a 28 year old qualified teacher. I have worked in education for 10 years and I love to inspire and motivate pupils through fun and exciting teaching opportunities. I believe that all individuals are capable of making progress, no matter how small the steps. I utilise a variety of strategies to help pupils cope with the challenges that learning creates, both academically and emotionally. However, I also ensure that lessons with me are thoroughly engaging, through creative planning and resources, which develop a thirst for learning.

I am a qualified teacher with 10 years of educational experience. I have supported pupils within a variety of contexts including 1:1, in small groups, and whole classes of 30. However, I am now moving away from school settings, to tutor pupils in alternative ways. I offer a wide range of support in most areas of early years and primary learning (ages 5-11). I apply a calm and patient demeanour in all of my lessons, to provide an approachable and inviting atmosphere. Having worked in both mainstream and special educational settings means I bring a wide skillset to my teaching practice, being able to differentiate lessons to accommodate all individual needs, as well as supporting pupils to overcome a range of barriers to learning. My lesson content varies depending on the needs of the pupil, but the ultimate goal is to provide creative, exciting and engaging lessons that motivate inspire, stretch and challenge pupils, enabling them to reach their full potential.
