Miriam has been tutoring my 15 year old home schooled daughter for over a year now, originally in Chemistry but then additionally in Physics from this year as was so happy with the progress she was making.

The plan is for Miriam to support her up to and including her GCSEs in both of these subjects as a result of the confidence my daughter has gained and the improvement in her knowledge and application of the information learnt.

Miriam is a great tutor, supporting my daughter in year 11 across the sciences and maths. She was very structured and organised, and the lessons were interesting and in depth. I have had Miriam for many years as a tutor for all 3 sciences and maths. As well as being an amazind teacher, explaining things clearly and finding ways to help you learn the best, she will also go over and above to do things like give you extra lesson time to make sure you know things and provide good resources. Miriam was my tutor and worked with me for three years, throughout my GCSEs and A-Levels. I was impressed with Miriam’s flexibility, she is able to tutor in all of the sciences, and is able to tailor a lesson to your needs immediately. As one of Miriam's English teachers during her Year 10 stay in Macclesfield, I feel well placed to offer a reference for her regarding her English language ability and her work ethic, both of which are very good.
During her time at All Hallows' Catholic High School, Miriam took part in a full curriculum, at the end of which she gained a Level 2 in both Adult Literacy and in Adult Numeracy exams by Edexcel and a Grade B Science GCSE. She studied all the necessary texts for the GCSEs she would have taken in English at the end of Year 11 had she stayed in England.
We have maintained regular contact since Miriam returned to Portugal in 2007; I was particularly pleased when she came back to England to study at Nottingham University and gained an MSc last year.
