My unique selling point, and primary factor for my students’ successes, lies in the cultivation of a challenging yet nurturing environment designed to support and extend my pupils’ abilities. To get to know each individual and their requirements, and to change my approach according to each student’s needs
I provide intriguing real-world scenarios, as well as purely theoretical thought experiments, as examples to lively explain difficult concepts in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Poetry
I facilitate my students’ learning journey by allowing correct/incorrect / “I don’t know” / and everything in-between answers with а series of well-planned open questions, rather than prove them with an unnatural view of the binary solutions “yes” or “no”
Patience is another one of my strongest virtues. Endeаvоuring to allow my pupils the time to truly understand new concepts, giving them plenty of thinking room. This may be through simplifying the question or interpreting it as best sorted for their individual comprehension
I am а strong believer that building good working relationships ensures solidifying the exchange of ideas
Incorporating questions from both below and above their current requirements allows context for solutions. Utilizing both simpler and harder exam questions provide my pupils the tools to not get overwhelmed with constrictive exam-like testing. This includes incorporating problem-solving questions from higher tiers, and other subjects (e.g., GCSE Qs for KS3 students. A-Level Qs for GCSE students, etc.)
I use interactive and collaborative software to provide students with visual representations of conceptual ideas, establishing them as both abstract and concrete
Asking students to write their own questions on past topics is a great means to both assess and reinforce old concepts. If they are able to teach back what they have learned from a week or so previously, then this allows for the reinforcement of deeper understanding, not memorizing. The best way to learn is to teach
I provide students with efficient tips and tricks to aid those with dyslexia or dyscalculia
DBS on the update service for both children and adults

Harley is an amazing tutor, my son finds maths difficult and yet with Harley he is able to focus throughout the entire lesson and really appreciates Harley's intelligent and conversational ability to bring maths to life. It's a potentially dry subject and Harley makes it really interesting. My son is never going to be a mathematician, but he's getting over a fear and insecurity of the subject which makes me hope he'll pass his GCSE - which for us is a massive win. Harley is encouraging, sets great goals, is kind and also funny. He's particularly good at pitching his teaching just right to meet the needs of the kid he's teaching at the moment. You can tell from his depth of maths and love of the subject how he would also be great for an adept kid. He brings odd notes of higher maths to my son's conversation where it falls into the flow, he's not afraid to challenge him and really encourages him to engage with the numbers, to see their beauty. An amazing tutor.
Harley has many years experience as a tutor. He is highly adept at seeing the problem from the students’ side. He is empathetic and creative in his approach whilst at the same time achieving set objectives. As a psychologist working with young people I have recommended many students to Harley and I would not hesitate to continue to do so.
Harley has/is been a massive support to my son. Since deregistering from school. His qualities and patience have had an amazing impact on my son Bailey. Harley has the ability to teach in a creative way to engage my son with the difficulties he suffers with. Harley is a unique and an amazing tutor. He’s always ready to tutor and persist with the lesson although their maybe high emotions at times.
Personally I feel very lucky to have had him on board teaching my son Bailey.Harley is tutoring my son GSCE Music. He is incredibly knowledgeable. His style of tutoring is bespoke and he encourages my son to deepen his understanding of music and to gain confidence in his approach to the exam questions and practical aspects of the GCSE. I recommend him highly.
