About Tierney
Hi, I’m Tierney, a 25-year-old qualified teacher with a passion for helping children feel confident and supported in their learning. I’ve worked with children and young people with additional needs since I was 17, and began tutoring GCSE and early years learners when I was 18.
I later went on to study Childhood Studies at university before completing my teacher training. Through both my teaching and tutoring experience, I’ve worked with children of different ages, abilities and learning styles, including children with SEN and additional needs.
I understand that every child learns differently, so I always aim to create a calm, patient and encouraging learning environment where children feel comfortable, supported and able to build confidence at their own pace.
I offer support with phonics, reading, English and GCSE preparation, as well as tailored support for children who may benefit from a more personalized approach to learning.

I offer calm, supportive online tutoring that is tailored to each child’s individual needs and learning style. I work with children of different ages and abilities, including those who are home educated or who may need extra support with confidence, focus or engagement.
I can help with phonics, reading, English and GCSE preparation, as well as supporting children with SEN and additional needs. My lessons are designed to feel encouraging and positive, helping children build confidence while making steady progress at their own pace.
I offer both 1:1 sessions and small online groups in a safe, friendly learning environment.
