About Alex
I’ve been a qualified teacher in England for three years and have also taught English as a foreign language in Peru and China. I’m a Mandarin learner myself and a drummer, so I know what it’s like to learn something new from scratch. I’ve seen how consistent, structured practice with the right guidance can lead to real progress, and I’m here to help you on that journey and celebrate your successes along the way. I teach using comprehensible input, immersion, and natural conversation, helping students learn vocabulary and grammar in context. I track key words during lessons and review them at the end to reinforce learning. A typical lesson might involve a conversation based on an image or reading exercise, exploring grammar and vocabulary as they come up, and then discussing the topic more broadly. I have experience teaching all levels and ages, from primary school students in England to English learners in China. My lessons are adaptable to each student’s needs.
