About Selim

If GCSE Maths feels overwhelming, I can help you understand it clearly and improve your grades with structured, examiner-informed guidance.

I am a qualified teacher, experienced tutor, and former managing director with a strong academic background: BSc in Business Administration, MSc from City University Business School (London), and QTS with PGCE. I have over six years of experience teaching Maths, and I currently teach A-Level Business Studies and Economics in Maidstone.

Although my professional background is diverse, teaching has always been the work I am most passionate about—especially helping students succeed in GCSE Maths. I love seeing the moment when topics finally “click” and students start gaining confidence in their numeracy skills.

I specialise in personalised, supportive teaching. My approach focuses on:

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, supportive and fully tailored to each student’s needs. We begin by identifying specific gaps through a short assessment or conversation, and then build a clear plan to strengthen those areas with targeted practice.

In every lesson, you can expect:
• Clear, simple explanations that make difficult topics easier
• Step-by-step problem solving
• Regular practice with GCSE-style questions
• Exam technique guidance to help you gain marks efficiently
• Ongoing feedback to track progress and boost confidence

Lessons are calm, encouraging and focused on developing real understanding—not just memorising methods. I always set achievable goals with my students and work patiently towards them.

I offer both online lessons and in-person sessions at the student’s home, making it easy and comfortable for learners who prefer face-to-face teaching in their own environment.

Selim has been great for my son, He gets him to go through past papers and when he is stuck, he does not immediately explain but makes him work it out. Only when he is completely stuck he steps in and starts with clues, to point him in the right direction making my son think.
