About Klaus

I have always taught alongside my creating and performing career. I currently teach LAMDA one-to-one in leading Independent IB School, Dwight London and am undergoing training to be a qualified LAMDA Examiner. I love engaging in discussions about the art and the skill of performance, whether that is acting, writing, music, or even stand-up comedy (yes, I have done my stint in this scary medium!) I have worked in the West End as a lead actor as well as various touring theatre shows, musicals and straight theatre. I currently work with the Primary Shakespeare Company as a Director and advisor. I continue to write professionally (stories and books) and perform as a musician, musical director and vocalist. I believe that performing and teaching go hand in hand and valuably inform the other.

About the lesson

I have an easy-going manner and fun approach to tutoring. My focus is always on learning, but I believe this can be done in a light-hearted way. My natural ability to communicate plus my experience as a qualified teacher (PGCE Drama & English) and being a professional actor and musician helps me to connect with all ages and abilities. I can tailor-make specific lessons if required, or work on set texts, monologues (for acting) or specific vocal techniques for maintenance, or for specific auditions. Lessons are typically 1 hour, but 30-minute sessions are available depending on location, or if online. To be discussed. I currently teach one-to-one LAMDA acting and Speech and Drama sessions at London Independent school, Dwight London (ages 8 - 16) as well as sessions in singing and acting (adults and young people) online. Qualifications: * 1st Class BA Hons Degree in Drama and Music from Brunel University * PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) in English and Drama at Reading University. I am the author of two personal development books and currently writing a screenplay and fiction novel alongside other freelance writing work. My in-depth knowledge and passion for the written word brings an enthusiasm for all acting and monologue sessions. I offer an initial free lesson to students, as I believe it is important for students to have a risk-free start and feel confident with their choice. First session max 30 minutes.
