About Anita
I am fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin because I was raised in Hong Kong but also studied in school with English and Mandarin as medium of instruction. I can also read and write traditional and simplified Chinese so that may make the Cantonese-teaching program more fruitful and all-rounded.

In my past working experience as a speech-language therapist in Hong Kong, I had abundant experience treating SEN children (e.g., Autism, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, hearing impairment, ADHD, language disorders, speech sound disorders, selective mutism, social and behavioural problems etc.).
Having abundant therapeutic experience, I know exactly how to break down the difficult mission of learning Cantonese into smaller steps, giving you or your kid appropriate cueing and specific feedback in the journey, such that you can learn from me bit by bit, with full sense of competence and confidence in the journey!

Hello I am Anita, a speech-language therapist from Hong Kong, and I am currently living in the United Kingdom.
*Learning Cantonese with me...how is it like?*
Cantonese is my native language and I love teaching it. I had 10 years of Cantonese teaching experience in Hong Kong and tele-therapy settings for different populations all over the world.
For instance, recently I designed a Beginner Cantonese curriculum for British and European born children and teenagers, building their confidence to speak and listen to basic Cantonese.
Much to my surprise, they could produce simple Cantonese sentences after just 8 online lessons! Even though they had nearly no knowledge about Cantonese at the beginning of the course. I believe this can be attributed to their relative strength in phonetic awareness, so I could make use of my professional knowledge in Jyutping (Cantonese Romanization) to help them to acquire new words and Cantonese pronunciation.

I am here with our children and you to learn a new language, overcoming any communication barriers you are facing. Using a variety of games and interactive activities, I work with my students to keep the lines of communication open and help people to enjoy the joy of connecting with each other.
