About Luna

I've always been a bit of a chameleon! As a child growing up in Italy, whenever my parents took me on holiday, I'd come home speaking with the local accent. Looking back, I realise that fascination with languages and cultures has stayed with me throughout my life.
Languages were always my favourite subject at school, and that passion eventually led me to move to the UK. Learning English wasn't always easy—especially when faced with the wonderfully unique range of British accents! At the same time, I lived with Spanish flatmates, so while I was learning to communicate confidently in English, I was also developing my Spanish through everyday conversations. Experiencing what it's really like to learn two languages in a new country taught me that language learning is about much more than memorising vocabulary; it's about confidence, resilience and connecting with people.
Today, I speak English, Spanish and Italian fluently, and I love helping others discover that they are capable of learning a language too. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing a student who once doubted themselves suddenly realise they can hold a conversation or express themselves in another language. For me, confidence always comes before fluency, and I believe that when students feel supported and encouraged, progress naturally follows.
As a qualified Spanish teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Spanish, I enjoy understanding not only what students need to learn but how they learn best. I use evidence-informed teaching strategies to adapt lessons to each individual, helping students develop lasting confidence alongside strong language skills.
My students would describe me as calm, encouraging and enthusiastic. I aim to create a relaxed environment where making mistakes is seen as an essential part of learning, and where every lesson leaves students feeling more confident than when they arrived.
For me, learning a language is about far more than communication. It develops curiosity, resilience, problem-solving skills and cultural understanding—qualities that stay with you long after you've learned your first conversation. If I can inspire my students to enjoy languages as much as I do, then I've achieved exactly what I set out to do.

About the lesson

Learning a language should be enjoyable, engaging and tailored to your individual goals. Whether you're preparing for GCSE or A-Level exams, improving your conversational Spanish or Italian, or learning a language from scratch, I will adapt every lesson to suit your needs and learning style.
I am a qualified Spanish teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Spanish, a BA (Hons) in Education Studies and Early Years Teacher Status. I have experience teaching students of different ages and abilities and enjoy helping learners build confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

My lessons are interactive and focus on developing practical communication skills alongside grammar and vocabulary. I use a range of activities, including conversation, retrieval practice, exam-style questions and authentic materials, to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although I can offer longer or shorter sessions depending on your needs.
