About Sean
Hi! I’m Seán, a qualified vocalist and singing teacher based in County Kerry, Ireland.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Popular Music from MTU Cork School of Music, where I specialised in voice, alongside a Senior Certificate in Musical Theatre and Popular Music from the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM).
With over ten years of vocal training and experience across a wide range of musical styles, I’ve developed a particular passion for musical theatre and contemporary music, including pop, rock, jazz and soul.
My musical background includes solo and ensemble performance, vocal instruction, group performance direction and inclusive music education. I’ve had the opportunity to work with students of different ages and abilities, experiences which have shaped my adaptable and encouraging approach to teaching.
As both a vocalist and an educator, I’m particularly interested in the relationship between vocal technique, musical expression and individuality. I believe that every singer has something unique to offer, and that good teaching should help students discover and develop their own sound rather than simply imitate somebody else’s.
I’m enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge and helping others experience the enjoyment, confidence and sense of achievement that comes with singing. Whether you’re taking your very first lesson or looking to develop your existing abilities, my aim is to make learning engaging, supportive and rewarding.
I look forward to helping you discover what your voice can do!

My singing lessons are tailored to each student’s individual voice, musical interests and personal goals. I specialise in musical theatre and contemporary singing, including pop, rock, jazz and soul, and welcome students of all experience levels, from complete beginners to more experienced performers.
I believe that developing a strong technical foundation is essential to confident, expressive singing. My lessons combine practical vocal exercises with repertoire-based learning, helping students understand how their voice works and how to use it effectively.
Areas we can explore include:
* Breath management and vocal support
* Vocal placement, resonance and tone production
* Developing vocal range and navigating different registers
* Vocal agility, articulation and diction
* Musical interpretation, phrasing and expression
* Performance confidence and stagecraft
* Repertoire selection and audition preparation
* Preparation for RIAM examinations and musical theatre performances
Lessons typically begin with a vocal warm-up and targeted technical exercises, followed by work on songs chosen to suit the student’s voice, interests and learning objectives. I aim to explain vocal concepts in clear, accessible language so students understand not only what they’re doing, but why.
My teaching style is encouraging, collaborative and adaptable. I recognise that every voice is different, and I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to vocal training. Whether you’re preparing for an audition, working towards an examination, returning to singing after a break or simply exploring your voice for the first time, we’ll work together to establish realistic goals and build your skills at a comfortable pace.
Above all, I want students to feel supported, challenged and excited about their progress, while developing the confidence to express their own musical identity.
