About Imogen

Hello! I'm Imogen, a qualified science teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience in both the UK and international schools. I currently teach online for an international school, delivering IB Biology and Environmental Systems & Societies to students around the world.

Throughout my career, I have taught a wide range of students, from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE, A Level and the International Baccalaureate. I also have experience creating and moderating assessments, giving me an excellent understanding of what examiners are looking for and how students can maximise their marks.

I believe that every student can succeed with the right support. Whether you're aiming to improve your confidence, achieve a top grade, prepare for exams or simply keep up with schoolwork, I provide patient, personalised tuition tailored to your goals and learning style.

My lessons are engaging, supportive and structured, with a focus on building deep understanding alongside strong exam technique. I pride myself on creating a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, whether they are aiming to improve confidence, catch up on missed content, or achieve the highest grades. I begin by identifying strengths, areas for development and learning style, before creating a personalised plan to help students make steady progress.

As a qualified science teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience in the UK and internationally, I have taught students studying GCSE, A Level and the International Baccalaureate (IB). I specialise in Biology and IB Environmental Systems & Societies, but I also tutor GCSE Chemistry, Physics and Maths.

My teaching is interactive and supportive, with a strong focus on developing genuine understanding rather than simply memorising facts. Lessons typically combine clear explanations, worked examples, exam-style questions and regular retrieval practice to build both knowledge and confidence. I also place great emphasis on exam technique, helping students understand how to maximise marks and avoid common mistakes.
