About Shalinee

I’m Shalinee, an MSc Applied Psychology graduate and practicing counselor with a genuine passion for teaching and supporting students. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with adolescents through both counseling and academic settings, which has helped me understand their learning styles, challenges, and strengths in a deeper, more meaningful way. As a teacher, I am calm, patient, and approachable. Students often tell me that they feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their doubts without hesitation. I believe that psychology becomes much easier when concepts are explained clearly and connected to real life, so I always teach in a way that is simple, structured, and relatable. Professionalism is very important to me. I come prepared for every class, share well-organized notes, track students’ progress, and maintain a respectful, encouraging environment. My goal is not only to help students score well, but also to help them genuinely understand, enjoy, and connect with the subject. I’m committed to creating a safe, supportive space where students can learn with confidence, clarity, and curiosity.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is centred on clarity, structure, and student comfort. I break down psychological concepts into simple, relatable explanations and connect them with real-life examples from counselling practice. I believe students learn best when they feel supported, so I maintain a calm, non-judgmental environment where they can freely ask questions and engage with the subject.

Teaching Techniques & Methods:

Concept-wise explanation using easy language and real-life examples

Visual aids like flowcharts, diagrams, and summaries

Regular answer-writing practice for boards and exams

Short quizzes to track progress and reinforce retention

Revision through micro-notes and topic-wise recaps

Counselling-informed approach to understand each student’s pace, mood, and learning needs

Class Structure (In General):

Quick recap of the previous class

Clear explanation of new concepts with examples

Notes, diagrams, and important points shared

Doubt-clearing and discussion

Short exercise or answer-writing task

End with a 2–3 minute summary of key takeaways

What Makes Me Unique as a Teacher:

I combine the roles of counsellor and educator, allowing me to support students both academically and emotionally.
