About Nate

I’m Nate Rose, I’m 36, British and have been a fully qualified teacher since 2012.

I’ve always been interested in people and behaviour, and so I chose to study Psychology at university. After completing this I chose to work with young children and pursue a career in teaching.

After completing my studies and working in primary schools in Manchester, I moved to Bangkok, Thailand in 2015. I worked in both local and international settings and taught classes, groups, and one on one lessons both online and offline.

I’m passionate about education, sports and fitness, video games, and music (also dogs… but sadly I don’t offer any education in this subject).

I strive to make my lessons and material engaging, challenging motivating and useful for everyone I teach and I’m always happy to adapt to different ages, learning styles and levels.

About the lesson

I have been working in education since 2009, and have taught many different subjects to students of many ages, nationalities and levels in different local and international lessons. I'm a fully qualified primary teacher, and have vast experience teaching English to learners from A1 - C1 level, and also teaching English grammar, and advanced literacy skills to young learners.

I believe that mastery of knowledge and skills is very important in learning and development. Rather than putting pressure on learners to learn vast quantities of knowledge and facts, I try to design my lessons in a way that allows a deeper understanding of the material I teach. We should be able to approach problems in different ways and use our skills in different contexts to ensure we really master anything we learn. Think of a skill that you have really mastered, I'm sure that not only would you be confident to complete this skill in a wide range of situations, but also it will always stay with you. This is what I aim for with the material that I teach. Although formal testing can be important for certain stages of our education too, and I have experience in preparing students for many different types of tests.

Education should be rewarding, motivating, and fulfilling. We should enjoy the journey on the way to our achievements, and we should celebrate all progress that we make, no matter how small that progress may be. If we can do this, we can learn to be self-disciplined, nurture and encourage our own curiosities and eventually become masters of our own learning. This is what I believe education should be, and what I strive to provide for my students.
