About Lucy

Hi, I’m Lucy! I’m a fully qualified primary school teacher with six years of classroom experience and I currently teach Primary 7 in Glasgow.
I absolutely love teaching and particularly enjoy those moments when something finally “clicks” for a child. One of my favourite parts of the job is getting to know each pupil as an individual, discovering their strengths and interests and finding the approaches that help them feel confident and successful.
Alongside classroom teaching, I have a particular interest in digital learning and using technology creatively to make learning engaging and accessible. I’m also an Apple Learning Coach and have experience supporting children with a wide range of learning needs and abilities.
I’m friendly, patient and encouraging, and I want children to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and having a go. My aim is for pupils to leave our sessions not only understanding more, but feeling more confident in what they can do.

About the lesson

I believe every child learns differently, so my tutoring sessions are always tailored to the individual child. I take time to understand what they are confident with, where they need support and, most importantly, how they learn best.
If one method doesn’t make sense to a child, we’ll try another! I use a range of strategies, visual resources, practical examples and engaging activities to help children find an approach that works for them. My aim is not only to develop academic skills, but also to build confidence and help children feel positive about their learning.
I am a fully qualified primary teacher with six years of classroom experience and currently teach Primary 7. I can support children across P1–P7 with literacy and English, maths and numeracy, reading and comprehension, writing, homework, wider primary subjects and P7–S1 transition.
Sessions can be 30–60 minutes depending on the child’s age, needs and concentration, and can be delivered online or in person. I’m happy to speak with parents beforehand about any particular areas of difficulty or goals so that sessions can be planned around what their child genuinely needs.
