About Ellie
Hello, my name is Ellie and I am a qualified primary school teacher with experience across the Early Years Foundation Stage (age 3-5) and KS1. I am a patient, kind, friendly and enthusiastic teacher, here to support families and children to thrive throughout their learning journey and to promote a love of learning in minds through creative and inclusive ways!
I have excellent subject knowledge and I am confident with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and National curriculum. I am passionate about shaping children’s futures, building the foundations at this crucial stage in their lives and supporting them to fulfil their potential.
I have experience in teaching phonics using different schemes such as FFT and Jolly Phonics. I have led Communication, Language and Literacy programmes with children and their parents to develop English language skills and support a positive home learning environment, helping parents feel more confident in supporting their children’s development at home.

My tutoring sessions will begin by deciding targeted goals together. I can offer specialist support in various areas of learning and development: Communication and Language, Phonics, Personal, Social, and Emotional Development, Early Literacy, Early Maths, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design.
I have experience teaching children of different abilities, every child is unique with different ways of learning. I can adapt my teaching style to suit your child’s needs, ensuring they are engaged and developing confidence in their abilities. I aim to make learning fun, inclusive and enjoyable through different learning styles such as visual, auditory and even kinaesthetic (doing and moving)! Depending on the learner, I can use a play-based approach of learning, a more structured approach of learning or a mixture of the two. These approaches may include topic based teaching, including exploring relevant stories, depending on your child’s needs, targets and interests.
Each session is tailored to your child’s needs, ensuring positive progression throughout their learning journey. Lessons can range from 20 minutes to 1 hour depending on children’s age.
