About Vicki
Hi, I'm Vicki. I'm a friendly, approachable 25-year-old qualified primary school teacher. I am a full time teacher in a year 2 class, currently preparing my class for their SATs. I have teaching experience in both KS1 and KS2, and have taught in years 1, 2, 5 and 6.
When teaching, I create a safe and comfortable environment where my pupils know that mistakes are something that they can learn from.
My aims are to provide my pupils with a correct and secure understanding of the learning, whilst promoting confidence and independence. I achieve this by learning modelling and explaining new materials, before allowing the children to explore the learning, whilst gradually removing the level of support and scaffolding I am providing.
In my spare time, I enjoy riding my horses, going to the gym and seeing friends and family.

Hi, I'm Vicki. I'm a friendly, approachable 25-year-old qualified primary school teacher. I am a full time teacher in a year 2 class, currently preparing my class for their SATs. I have teaching experience in both KS1 and KS2, and have taught in years 1, 2, 5 and 6.
I completed my PGCE in primary education last year with Nottingham Trent University, meaning I use a mixture of older and upcoming teaching methods to suit the individual needs of my pupils. I have experience working with SEN children, and I use differentiated techniques to help these children reach their own potential.
Before becoming a teacher, I completed a BSc (hons) degree in Equine Performance Science. On my completion, I set up an equestrian livery business and became qualified freelance equestrian sports coach. I coached groups and individuals of all ages and abilities, which ensured my communication and motivational skills were excellent.
When teaching, I encourage my pupils to become more confident and independent by modelling the learning, then allowing them to explore it, whilst gradually removing the level of scaffolding I provide. Additionally, mistakes are recognised and used as a way to learn. I provide a learning environment where my pupils feel comfortable enough to make mistakes and they know that they aren't a negative thing!
Due to my currently commitments, I am only available for lessons on weekday evenings, and anytime during the weekends. My lessons are usually an hour, but I am flexible to change if this would not work for some individuals. I can teach all primary subjects, across all year groups.
