About Ben

I am a qualified PGCE Languages teacher with a passion for helping students develop confidence and fluency in Spanish. As a trained educator, I understand how languages are acquired and how to support learners at every stage, from complete beginners through to exam preparation at GCSE and A-Level.

I have experience adapting lessons to suit different learning styles and goals, whether students are aiming to improve their grades, build confidence in speaking, or develop real-world conversational ability.

I believe that making mistakes is a natural and essential part of learning a language, and I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable speaking and progressing at their own pace.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is based on TPRS combined with spaced repetition techniques to help students build long-term fluency and confidence in Spanish.

I focus on creating engaging, comprehensible input through stories, dialogue, and interactive speaking practice. This allows students to acquire the language naturally rather than relying solely on memorisation or textbook drills. New vocabulary and structures are repeatedly recycled in context, which is reinforced using spaced repetition to ensure long-term retention.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although shorter sessions can be arranged for younger learners or beginners who prefer more frequent, focused practice.

I am a qualified PGCE Languages teacher with experience teaching Spanish and other modern foreign languages. I have worked with learners of varying abilities and understand how to adapt lessons to individual needs, whether the goal is exam success or conversational fluency.

My lessons are suitable for:

- A-Level Spanish students
- Adult learners (beginner to intermediate/advanced)
- Anyone looking to improve fluency, confidence, or exam performance

Ben taught my son Spanish for a year in school. He was truly inspirational for my son and helped progress his Spanish to a very high level. We were devastated when he left the school but since then he has also tutored my son for his GCSE Russian exam this year. He massively improved his confidence going into the exam. And hopefully we will catch up in the future for A level Russian tutoring….alongside some music chatter! I would definitely recommend Ben 100%.
