About Cari

Hola, my name is Caridad, and I am a dedicated and highly experienced Spanish teacher with a passion for helping students achieve their full potential. Spanish is my native language, and I have spent many years teaching learners of different ages, backgrounds and abilities, from complete beginners to advanced students preparing for important examinations. I hold a Master's Degree in Language Teaching and Multimedia Materials, which has provided me with a strong academic foundation in language acquisition, teaching methodologies and the effective use of educational resources. My Master's dissertation specialised in Spanish phonetics, focusing on the challenges English speakers face when learning Spanish pronunciation and the most effective strategies to improve their speaking skills and oral confidence.
I currently teach GCSE Spanish, A-Level Spanish, IB Spanish B (Standard and Higher Level) and IB Literature A, giving me extensive knowledge of examination requirements, assessment criteria and the skills students need to succeed. Throughout my teaching career, I have consistently supported students in improving their grades, developing confidence in communication and achieving excellent examination results. In IB Literature A, I have taught and analysed ten different literary works this academic year, helping students develop critical thinking, literary analysis and essay-writing skills at a high academic level.
My students appreciate my patient, supportive and encouraging approach. I believe that every learner is capable of making progress when lessons are adapted to their individual needs and goals. Whether you are preparing for exams, improving your speaking skills, studying for the IB Diploma Programme, or learning Spanish for work, travel or personal interest, I will provide personalised guidance and a structured learning plan to help you succeed. I take pride in creating engaging and professional lessons that build confidence, develop fluency and foster a genuine appreciation for the Spanish language and culture.

About the lesson

I am an experienced Spanish teacher who believes that languages are best learnt through a combination of communication, confidence-building and a solid understanding of grammar. I tailor every lesson to the individual student's needs, learning style and goals, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and developing their language skills. My teaching approach combines speaking, listening, reading and writing activities with clear grammar explanations, pronunciation practice and authentic materials. I place particular emphasis on communication and phonetic accuracy, helping students develop natural fluency and confidence in spoken Spanish. I hold a Master's Degree in Language Teaching and Multimedia Materials, and my dissertation focused on phonetics, specifically analysing the features of English speakers learning Spanish and exploring strategies to improve pronunciation and oral production. This specialised knowledge enables me to identify common difficulties and provide effective, practical solutions that accelerate progress. I currently teach a wide range of courses, including GCSE Spanish, A-Level Spanish, IB Spanish B at both Standard and Higher Level, and IB Literature A. I have extensive experience preparing students for examinations, guiding them through speaking assessments, essay writing, grammar mastery and exam techniques. In IB Literature A, I have worked with students on ten different literary works this academic year, developing their analytical skills and helping them produce high-quality written and oral responses. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged for intensive revision or specific examination preparation. My classes are suitable for secondary school students, GCSE and A-Level candidates, IB students, adult learners and anyone wishing to improve their Spanish, whether for academic, professional or personal reasons. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent results but also to develop a genuine appreciation of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture while building the confidence needed to use the language successfully in real-life situations.
