About Poppy

I am a qualified Maths teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching and tutoring students of different ages and abilities. Throughout my career, I have developed a passion for helping students overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals.
I chose to teach Maths because I enjoy helping students understand concepts that they may have previously found difficult or intimidating. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student gain confidence in their abilities and realise that they are capable of succeeding.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy continuing my professional development and finding new ways to make learning engaging and accessible. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also develop the confidence and problem-solving skills that will benefit them long after their exams.

About the lesson

As a qualified Maths teacher with over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience, I understand that every student learns differently. My lessons are tailored to the individual, whether you need help building confidence, mastering difficult topics, improving exam technique, or achieving your target grade.
I create a supportive and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. Rather than simply teaching methods to memorise, I focus on developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts so that students can apply their knowledge independently and confidently.
I specialise in tutoring KS3, GCSE and A Level Maths. Every lesson is carefully planned to meet the student’s needs and build on their strengths. Lessons are one hour long and designed to maximise progress while keeping students engaged and motivated.

I've known Poppy all through her teaching career and as a tutor. She is an excellent one to one tutor. She has mastery of not only the maths but also how to simplify and communicate complex aspects. She has a great track record of success with many different levels of tutees. I would highly recommend her.
