About Darren
Hi! I'm a qualified Math and Computer Science teacher with a BSc Ed from the University of Limerick. I’ve taught students aged 12–18 and recently finished a full year of full-time teaching. I’m passionate about helping students reach their goals — whether that’s building confidence, understanding tricky topics, or smashing exam targets. Having achieved a H1 in Math myself, I understand the stress and uncertainties students go through, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. Since I’ve recently been through the system myself, I can really relate to students. Outside the classroom, I’m big into soccer, tennis, the gym, and traditional Irish music (I play the fiddle!). I try to bring the same energy and focus from those interests into my teaching. Looking forward to helping you reach your potential in Math!

My lessons are tailored to each student's needs, focusing on building understanding and confidence. I use a mix of clear explanations, guided practice, and past exam questions to reinforce learning. I break down complex topics into manageable steps and adapt my teaching style depending on how each student learns best — whether visual, verbal, or practical. Each lesson is typically 60 minutes, with flexibility depending on the student’s goals. I begin with a brief recap, introduce new material clearly, and finish with practice questions or exam-style problems. I hold a BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science with Education from the University of Limerick. I’ve taught students from 1st year right to leaving certs in full-time and placement roles across Irish secondary schools, and I’ve delivered free after-school tuition to exam-year students.
