About Farzana

I am a qualified history teacher working in an inner city school in Birmingham. I have experience teaching secondary history from ages 11-18. Being a qualified history teacher means I have access to a vast amount of resources and knowledge to help students with their studies. I have subject knowledge on a wide variety of areas in history including Nazi and Holocaust history, South Asian History, Russian History, Chinese history, Communist History, British History, South African History and Medievalist Histories. I am based in Birmingham, and I can remotely teach. I also offer face to face classes and I am willing to negotiate at home tutoring depending on distance. I am centrally located to Birmingham and I can drive so I am able to cover a large area of Birmingham. I am of Bengali background and can speak Bengali, for those with language issues.

About the lesson

I base my classes for History on exam preparation and content revision. I aim to help GCSE and A-level students achieve highest grades possible in exam questions through exam practice. This tutoring will have visible results in their school work (mock exams) and I will teach a methodology to help cover basis of all exam questions. I base my teaching around build up to exams, however if areas of content knowledge need brushing up I can also offer this.

This first lesson offered with Farzana will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details

I charge £35 face to face and £30 an hour virtually. This includes practising exam style questions and content revision. This can be changed on request or if needed for the student, with focus on just one if needed. I am happy to mark work done in the session at no extra fee. Additional marking of exam practice or questions done outside of the lesson will cost £1-3 per question depending on the length of the question. Please notify if this is needed beforehand. I will do this outside of session and this will not eat into session time. My revision sessions will also come with access to resources which your child may not otherwise have access to. Please bear this in mind when considering my prices
