About Karen
**Proven results! Students progress rapidly and in recent GCSE results my students achieved a minimum of two grades higher than their predicted grades. I have 100% pass rate for 11plus**
I graduated from Lancaster University with first class honours in English language and literature. I then went on to do a PGCE at St.Martin’s College (Lancaster) in secondary English with Drama and Media Studies. In 2003 I gained qualified teacher status whilst teaching at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School.
I have had over ten years experience teaching in secondary schools in Lancashire and have experience of teaching across the age and ability range (11-18). I have experience of teaching the following special needs: hydrocephalus, SEBD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Aspergers and ADHD.
Personal tuition can be extremely beneficial to students who require a booster of lessons prior to examination or to enable students to gain one to one support in order to improve their writing abilities. I am able to create tailored lessons for students and give them the support they require to succeed.
I have good knowledge of the exam syllabi and am currently an examiner for AQA. I have experience of teaching WJEC, AQA, Eduqas, OCR and Edexcel.
I am also an experienced entrance exam tutor and have experience of teaching for the CEM and GL Assessment boards. My previous students have gone on to study at Bury Grammar, Bolton School, Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School and Urmston Grammar School. I currently have a 100% pass rate for entrance examination and the 11 Plus. Please ask about my 11 Plus services as I will be able to give you excellent advice on this process.
