About Ray

Hi, my name is Ray and I am a qualified teacher of English as a foreign language (EFL). I hold a TEFL Academy Level 3 Certificate (120 hours of training, Ofqual-regulated) and have always been passionate about languages and helping people gain the confidence to communicate in English.

I believe in the importance of patience, clear communication and a bit of creativity when teaching languages. I have TEFL teacher training and experience working with students of all levels to help them develop their reading, writing, speaking and examination skills.

I am a curious individual who loves to learn about different cultures around the world, travel and meet new people. It is this passion for the world and its cultures that inspired my career in teaching English. I would love to work with you to develop your confidence and fluency in speaking English.

About the lesson

My lessons will focus on helping you to use the language rather than memorizing rules. As a qualified teacher in the EFL field (TEFL Academy Level 3) I will find a balance between helping you to understand the grammar behind the language and giving you the opportunity to learn the vocabulary and pronunciation necessary to communicate with ease with others who speak it.

Each lesson will start with a warm-up for the student, followed by lessons on the topic to be covered and then finally some practice for the students to engage in the majority of the speaking within the lesson. Adapting to how the students learn best, I will include different online resources to help supplement the lessons.

Due to my patience and interest in the different cultures and languages in the world, I have developed a classroom atmosphere that encourages the students to take part in activities without feeling under judgment. I will adapt to how you learn best.

These lessons are suitable for beginners and intermediate learners alike with an interest in developing fluency and confidence in the language. Whether you are looking to learn English for work, study or travel, my lessons can help you to achieve your goals.
