About Joe

I’m a fully qualified computing teacher (PGCE, QTS) with over five years’ experience teaching across secondary and further education. Beyond the classroom, I’m passionate about cybersecurity, programming, and exploring new technologies, and I enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with students. I love helping learners discover the practical and exciting side of computing, whether it’s solving tricky coding problems, understanding IT systems, or exploring computer science concepts in real-world contexts. I’m approachable, supportive, and always keen to make lessons engaging and relevant, helping students develop both skills and confidence in the digital world.

About the lesson

As a fully qualified computing teacher (PGCE and QTS) with over five years of classroom experience, I bring a structured yet supportive approach to every lesson. I’ve taught across secondary schools and further education settings, helping students at GCSE, A-Level, and vocational college levels build strong skills and confidence in Computing, Computer Science, and IT. My teaching style is student-centred and flexible. I focus on identifying each learner’s individual needs and tailoring lessons accordingly—whether that’s mastering programming and algorithms, understanding IT systems, improving exam technique, or building practical computing skills. I combine clear explanations with plenty of guided practice, problem-solving exercises, and feedback to ensure genuine understanding. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, though I’m happy to adjust duration or focus to suit the learner’s goals. I use a range of interactive tools and resources to make online sessions engaging and accessible, and I provide follow-up materials to help students consolidate their learning between lessons. My lessons are ideal for GCSE and A-Level Computer Science and IT students, college learners working towards vocational IT qualifications, or anyone looking to develop practical computing skills, from programming to general IT fluency. I aim to create a friendly, confidence-building environment that helps every learner make measurable progress.
