About Surya

Hello! I’m Surya, an experienced educator and Chemistry teacher from India with more than 10 years of experience in teaching and student development.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, a B.Ed. in Physical Science, and an M.Ed. Over the years, I have worked with school students and learners from different backgrounds, helping them understand academic concepts and develop confidence in their learning.

As a Chemistry teacher, I enjoy making challenging topics easier to understand through simple explanations, examples, visual learning and guided practice. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit the learner’s level, pace and individual needs.

I am friendly, patient and approachable, and I encourage students to ask questions freely. My classes are conducted in a supportive environment where students can learn without fear of making mistakes.

I welcome CBSE and IGCSE students from India and other countries for online one-to-one Chemistry classes.

Whether you need help with a difficult topic, regular academic support, revision, homework or examination preparation, I will work with you to make Chemistry clearer and more manageable.

About the lesson

My Teaching Approach

I believe Chemistry becomes much easier when students understand the concept instead of simply memorizing information. My teaching approach is therefore concept-based, interactive, and tailored to each student's learning level and goals.

I have more than 10 years of teaching experience and hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, B.Ed. in Physical Science, and M.Ed. I use simple explanations, everyday examples, diagrams, questioning, problem-solving and guided practice to help students understand Chemistry clearly.

My Teaching Methods

My classes may include:

• Step-by-step explanation of concepts
• Real-life examples and applications of Chemistry
• Diagrams, equations and visual explanations
• Guided problem-solving
• Question-and-answer activities
• Doubt clarification
• Short practice exercises
• Revision and recap
• Exam-oriented questions and practice

I adjust my teaching pace according to the student's level. Students are encouraged to ask questions and participate actively rather than simply listen to a lecture.

A Typical Lesson

A typical 60-minute lesson may include:

5 minutes – Quick recap
We review the previous lesson and check what the student remembers.

15–20 minutes – Concept explanation
I introduce the new topic and explain the key concepts step by step using simple examples and visuals.

15–20 minutes – Guided practice
The student works through questions with my guidance. I identify areas that need more explanation and provide additional examples.

10 minutes – Independent practice
The student attempts questions independently so that I can assess their understanding.

5 minutes – Summary and next steps
We review the important points, clarify remaining doubts, and discuss what to practise before the next class.

The lesson structure can be adjusted depending on whether the student needs concept learning, homework support, revision, or examination preparation.

What Sets Me Apart

My goal is not just to finish the syllabus. I focus on helping students develop understanding, confidence and problem-solving ability.

With my background in both education and Chemistry, I can identify where a student is struggling and adapt the explanation accordingly. I create a supportive environment where students can ask questions without hesitation and learn at their own pace.
