About Cheng

I'm a Chartered Accountant by profession with a strong passion for helping students build confidence in their financial knowledge and to maximize their potential to excel in the subject. I know firsthand that accounting can seem overwhelming at first—but I believe that with the right guidance, anyone can master it. That’s why I teach: to help students break through confusion, understand the logic behind the numbers, and succeed in their studies or careers. My lessons are clear, structured, and tailored to your goals—whether you're studying for exams, catching up on class material, or just starting out. I work with high school students and adjust my approach to fit your level and pace. If you're looking for someone who’s patient, experienced, and genuinely invested in your progress, I’d love to support your accounting journey.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centered around building a strong understanding of the subject matter through engagement, real-world applications, and adapting to the needs of each individual student. The teaching methodology & techniques I use are:

Personalise: I adapt my teaching style to the student's learning preferences. Some people learn best through visual aids, others through hands-on practice, or by discussing concepts aloud. I tailor my lessons to make the material as accessible as possible.

Active Engagement: Instead of just talking through concepts, I encourage the student to engage by asking questions, solving problems themselves, and explaining their thought process. This active learning approach reinforces their understanding.

Breakdown of Complex Topics: I love simplifying complex concepts into smaller, digestible parts, making sure the student fully grasps each piece before moving on.

Real-Life Examples: I integrate examples from real life, current events, or the student’s interests to help them connect the material to something meaningful.

Consistent Feedback & Reflection: After each lesson, I provide constructive feedback and ask students to reflect on what they've learned to help reinforce concepts. We may also revisit previous topics as needed to ensure retention.

My tutoring services are for VCE level students who wants to improve their knowledge or understanding of the subject in order to perform to the best of their ability.
