About NOMSA

I am a qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA) with over nine years of experience working in professional practice across accounting and audit, both in the UK and South Africa. I currently work as an Assistant Audit Manager, with strong experience auditing financial services clients, pension funds, public sector bodies, and complex investment structures.

Alongside my professional role, I am passionate about teaching and have provided coaching and mentorship to trainees throughout my career. My tutoring approach focuses on breaking down complex accounting concepts into clear, practical steps, using real-world examples to help students gain confidence, improve exam performance, and develop a solid understanding of accounting in practice.

About the lesson

I take a practical, student-centred approach to accounting tutoring, drawing on my experience working in professional practice across accounting and audit. My focus is on helping students truly understand concepts, not just memorise rules.

Teaching techniques & methodology:
> I break down complex topics into clear, logical steps using real-world examples from practice.
> Sessions are interactive, with regular questions and worked examples to check understanding.
> I adapt explanations to suit each student’s learning style and pace.
> Where relevant, I link theory to exam technique and common pitfalls.

> Lessons typically last 60 minutes, though this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs and goals.

> Qualified Chartered Accountant with 9 years’ experience in accounting and audit.
> Currently working for Big 5 audit firm in the UK
> Strong grounding in financial accounting, audit, and practical application of standards.
