About Sara

After a graduation in Foreign Languages and Literatures and a Master in Languages for the communication, I finished my Celta with a final score of Pass B at Edinburgh College. I love working with people and I always thought they are the key for self-development and knowledge growth. I'm a very open-minded person, organised and flexible, always thinking about the positivity about life.  I translated websites, I worked as interpreter, I travelled for both my Erasmus and Internship to Spain and I also participated to International Fairs around Europe. I love travelling for work, not only because it enables me to meet new people and cultures but also because I love exploring and building my knowledge about traditions and differences that can stick the world together.  Thanks to the fact I got my CELTA through Edinburgh College, I had the chance to work with students of various age and nationality, helping me dealing with different cultures and consequently possible barriers. Also, having taught multinational students during Summer Schools at Queen Margaret University, helped me a lot understanding barriers and anticipating problems students might have. In September last year my experience went beyond temporary positions and I had the chance to work as casual at TLI. Also, I have worked as a private tutor for the preparation of schools’ exams in Spanish, Italian and English and I am still working as a Private Foreign Language Tutor in Edinburgh. I have always chosen people related jobs because I enjoy communicating and building relationships through helping and offering availability. Moreover, as a member of Salsacaribe dance school I have enjoyed meeting new people and sharing my energies with kids and adults, teaching them and preparing them for shows, always with a positive and engaging attitude. Also, supporting Saharawii obstetricians in their difficulties have helped me a lot in understanding different approaches to learning.

I always try to add engaging materials to books and during my classes I most of the time present the target language through interesting reading or listening such as up-to-date articles, songs, videos or blogger speeches together with productive games. I think 1-1s are more challenging than classes, as the TTT could be much higher than STT this is why I always use games and productive skills so that students can improve their skills and use the language while having fun and expanding their ideas.
